Riding Safari in Africa

Puppy Walking

Puppy walkers are special people who meet a demanding criteria.  First, and foremost, they must have a true love of animals; and secondly, they must be willing to forego any sort of order around their house.  Puppies will dig holes in your yard, chew on your porch steps, crash through newly planted bushes, and wreck general havoc around flower beds. Do not even think about leaving gloves, halters, lead ropes or sponges lying around your barn.  Their houses will need to sit well away from a road and having several of their own dogs or children to act as baby sitters help. ...more...

Horseback Trail Ride to Benefit the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center

SUNDAY, MAY 3RD AT 10 AM ON THE BURWELL-VAN LENNEP ISLAND FARMS. 

This 3 mile ride along a mile of Shenandoah River features some of the most beautiful sights of spring.  There will be dogwood and redbud in bloom, and fields of bluebells will be seen along the river.  Eagles are often spotted in the grand sycamores that line the river, along with osprey and great blue herons.  At the end of the ride there will be refreshments while riders visit with some of the education animals from the center. ...more...

Special Meeting - Fall Race

There will be a special meeting of the entire membership Sunday January 25th at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at Weldon House (home of Bill and Anne McIntosh). Following the meeting will be a light meal courtesy of Bill and Anne.

At the meeting a presentation will be made to describe how the Hunt can continue to participate in the Fall Race fund raising for Blue Ridge Hospice and leverage the funds raised to enhance the Hunt’s goodwill more broadly in the community. Following the presentation a vote will be taken to get the membership’s input for the board of directors which will meet January 25th. ...more..
