Rescheduling the Blue Ridge Hunt Point-to-Point

The blizzard of 2010 has taken its toll on everyone and the Blue Ridge Hunt Point to Point is no exception.

The Virginia Point to Point season runs from late Febuary until the first week in May when the series of races finish at the Gold Cup.  Casanova cancelled this year and won't reschedule.

Our races are fortunate to have an available day on Saturday, March 27.  This is the weekend that Orange County runs on Sunday and they have granted permission for us to run on Saturday.  Saturday is also the date of the Camden, SC sanctioned races which will be somewhat of a conflict but appears to be the best of a bad situation.

Our races have long been a tradition with many in the community as a great day to meet friends, watch some good racing, and just be outdoors in a beautiful setting.  We have postponed in the past and its always been a gamble but one we feel is necessary.  So, with a little luck and a lot of sunshine we will put on a race meet on March 27 featuring timber and flat racing.

The Hunter Pace pairs races will hopefully be rescheduled but it is not known at this time when that would be -- be sure to call Nini Hapworth at 540-687-5449 for more information.
