The Hunt Ball - Thanks!

Many thanks to Cleo Gewirz, Jenny Irwin and Ross Mulry for a fabulous and successful hunt ball raising approximately $5500.
The band was "Horizons", from Richmond VA. The caterer was Joan Wofford; her company is called "Savoir Fare," from Round Hill VA. The flowers were done by Louise Lynn, from Purcellville. Juliet (Locke's Store) did the wine. ...more...

Trail Ride Thursday February 4th
Please meet with us at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 4th, at Doris Stimpson's house for a trail ride through Blandy. Lunch to follow.
Please come and get your horse out, see some people, and help get organized for the Point-to-Point.

Please hold the date of March 6, 2010 open for the 61st annual BRH Point To Point, at Woodley Farm in Berryville. Post time is 12:00.
The Hunter Pace will be held March 7, 2010 at Lakeville Farm. The first pairs will start at 12:00.
As always, we need many volunteers to make both these events successful. If you are interested in helping, please call Doris or Anne and VOLUNTEER -- we expect everyone to pitch in, in some way.

Conservation Easements and the Future of Foxhunting in Clarke County
It’s about you and me and the future of fox-hunting with BRH!
Here is a political reality: The zoning in our County and fox-hunting country is temporary – it can change with one County election cycle. A different Board of Supervisors could be less interested in conser vation and more development-prone, which would have inevitable consequences for our sport and our way of life.
Here is a truth: Conservation easements are a permanent way of limiting development and securing open space for farming, resource conservation and recreation.
